Chattanooga Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge presents awards

Dalton Roberts was presented the Distinguished Citizen and Lifetime Achievement Award in the 2009-2010 in the Awards Ceremony Sunday, February 21, at the Municipal Building in Collegedale.  It was presented by Mike Mahn for his life of service as a school teacher, county executive, writer, musician and philosopher.

Fred Headrick, a longtime volunteer with the Medal of Honor Museum, was presented the Chapter Award by Geraldine Charton.  The Medal of Honor Museum of Military History received Volunteer Organization recognition.  Chris Cole was scheduled to receive a Volunteer Organization award for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Ernie Pyle Chapter 1945.

County Commissioner Larry Henry welcomed the guests.

The Spirit of '76 Community Service Award went to Bette Malone and Emily Lewis from Barbara Lane.  Chris McSpadden gave the George Washington Honor Medal to Michael Reed.

The George Washington Honor Ribbon was given by Julia Olive to David Andrew Hall, Hope Howard and Andrew McKeown.

Wesley Althaus, David Hatch, Jonathan Parker and Casey Reece were given the Certificate of Merit for Youth Essay by Valerie Copeland.  Tom Randolph was honored with the Distinguished Teacher Award for a Tribute to George Washington.

Invocation was by Paul Parker and the Red Bank High School ROTC presented the colors under the direction of Sgt. Maj. Rick Franklin.  Patsy Henry led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
